Indledning
The short story “The Cord” made by Cheryl Rao in 1992. The story is about an Indian family, where Ma, the one telling the story, must accept that her son, Rohit, has found a woman that he wants to marry.

Ma is a first-person narrative which for sure is reliable. In the text, it says: “I put down Rohit’s letter and tried to keep calm. “I must not cry,” I told myself aloud.”
