Once this was the country people sought. Millions of immigrants came to Ellis Island with dreams, and most important of everything, they came with hope in their hearts and eyes.
They abandoned their homes, jobs – their entire life. They came with a dream of living in a land full of opportunities. Soon this country was turned into this beautiful pot of cultures, religions, languages, ethnicities and races.
For years this dream was a relevant subject found in conversations between us. However, these days, the dream seems to be slowly fading. Someone is trying to take this pot with us in it and put it back to how it was before.
To send away the ones who don’t belong. But what does this all mean? Have people lost hope? Some no longer believe in a new start or chance to better their lives simply because the new version of The American Dream seems unattainable.
People have lost their hope for a better life. A lot of it has to do with the economic instability in the United States. This country’s golden era, the 1950’s, catapulted the American dream back to life.
However, now that the dust from the era has settled. There might only be a little left for this generation and the next to live from, much less use. This assignment will discuss whether or not the American Dream still exists
