Indledning
In modern history racism has historically been a key factor for many of the biggest crises world-wide.

Slavery, the second world war, and the American civil war are key examples of how injustice, inequality, and discrimination has led to millions of deaths for innocent people.

Even though racism has led to all these horrific incidents, it is still ruining people’s lives in today’s modern society. This essay will firstly focus on explaining structural racism.

Uddrag
There are different aspects and examples of structural racism in the American system, which leads the society to face a lot of challenges and inequities among the population, primarily for people of color.

In America more than 60 % of prisoners consists of people of color even though only 12,6 % of the total population are of color.

This is a result of the American society experiencing financial growth because of the private prison industry, where new prisons have been built and corporations using prisoners as cheap working capacity among other things.

Many critics believe that this is a sign of the American society sacrificing human lives for economic growth, which the American president Donald Trump would call fake news.
