Indledning
Racism is a huge problem in the USA. Also, in retail stores racism takes place. Imagine going into your local store, to get some shampoo, and you have to wait 10 minutes for the manager to unlock the cabin, just because of your race.

In the video sequence from 02 news, we hear Patricia Fulford telling us about her struggle when she is shopping for hair products for African Americans.

The black woman says that she had to wait up to 10 minutes before the manager unlocks the cabin, where the products are stored.

The American retail chain Walmart explains that the hair products for African Americans are locked up, and can only be unlocked, with a key from the manager.

The intention is really good that people want to focus on this right now,” said Rob Smith, founder, and CEO of the Phluid Project, a non-gender online retailer. “

Organizations have to do more. They have to look at hiring practices, mentorship, plans for leadership and board representation” he says.

PEW Research Center has interviewed adult Americans if they have experienced several situations, for example, been unfairly stopped by police, or People acted like they were suspicious of them.

It shows clearly that the Black people have gone through things a lot more than the other races. The least exposed are the white people.

This shows that black people are treated differently than other races. Not just in stores, but also in many other everyday situations.

In conclusion, Racial Inequality is a problem everywhere and every day in the US. The customers have a lot of power to change this culture.

If we choose retailers with good policies against discrimination of any kind, the retailers must listen and act!

You can fight against racism by joining protests in the streets, but you can also, as a customer, decide in which stores you want to spend your money. Money talks and they will listen.
