Apple has in the last couple of years faced a lot of critique from a lot of different people, including their own workers, but also highly respected authorities.

In an article by The Guardian, it states that “a group of more than 30 American business leaders”(US companies tell Apple and Amazon to put planet before profits, P:1, L:4) have made an ad that targets Amazon and Apple, and the intention is clear, they need to be greener.

Corporate Social Responsibility is more important than ever before, both for the companies but also for the consumers.

Companies are fighting each other to be the most sustainable, and the whole marketing aspect has been affected by this.

Companies are now trying to market their CSR, which must be a good thing. The companies look more attractive to consumers, and the consumers looks more aware.

Many people want to show the world the best side of themselves and supporting the environment by choosing green products can help with that.

Therefore, in most situations it’s a win-win situation for the company and the consumer for being greener, but why isn’t this the case for the biggest companies in the world, like Apple?

Apple is also marketing their CSR and showing how environmentally friendly they have become, but is that the reason people are buying their products?

Iphones, Ipads and airpods, are they just a show-off rather than a visual representation of how the consumer cares about the environment?

Apple has too much power and their products are too well-established to be torn down by environmental activists.

Power and money can shut the mouth of the most, and that’s why Apple is still profiting even though video evidence of horrible working conditions exists.
