The author of the speech “I Have A Dream” is Martin Luther King. He was the leader of The Civil Rights Movement, and he has experienced segregation throughout his life, living as a black man in the US.
Concerning the occasion, the speech was held in Washington in 1963 in connection with “The March on Washington for jobs and freedom”. The audience of the speech is primary members of The Civil Rights Movement, the police, African-Americans, white Americans and politicians.

One hundred years later, the life of the Negro is still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination. One hundred years later, the Negro lives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of a vast ocean of material prosperity.
