What is the American dream? The American dream goes back to 1931 when a book called “Epic of America” was released.
The author designated it as “That dream of a land in which life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement.”

The American dream was true for Eminem, Eminem was a hard-working poor white man. In the movie 8-mile we are watching on the sideline, we see all his struggles on the way to the top.
Eminem has just broken up with his girlfriend and started living with his mother and sister in a trailer. His mother was an alcoholic and was poor, there were not many white people in his neigh-borhood.
Eminem fought harder than most people, he had a full-time job and was asking his boss for more shifts to earn more money.
At the same time, Eminem was trying to get a rap carrier at nighttime. Which was even harder than his work, he was the only white guy, the first time he was on stage he even backed out, because people were laughing.
His friends wanted him to try again, be-cause they know his potential and how hard he is willing to work for it, he then got back up and won the whole competition. If you see where he is now, it is insane how the American dream got true for Eminem.
