Summary of ”Coraline”
The story ”Coraline” by Neil Gaiman from 2002, tells the story about the girl Coraline, who moves into an old house. In the house she finds a hidden door.

During the night, she opens the door, and she finds a parallel world, that reminds her of her own life, but everything is much better. Coraline meets her “other mother”, and she is inviting her to stay forever.

Coraline is realizing, that this is a trick, so her “other mother” can “eat up Coralines soul”. During Coralines escape, “other mother’s” hand is trapped in the portal.

The hand haunts Coralines real world, and it is trying to steal the key to the other world, that Coraline keeps. Coraline throws the key in to a deep well, and the hand follows the key, and it is stuck.
