This novel does not use flashbacks nor does it use flashforwards, but what I get from the text is, that the main character is thinking a lot about his future.
He is in a financially unstable situation, and he is in need of money, to keep his life the way it has been.

The whole atmosphere when the vacuum man is at his house, is kind of uncomfortable. Since we’re following the main character and hearing what he’s thinking and doing, when the man is walking around his house cleaning different things.
We get to hear the different situations from the main characters point of view, and I feel like since the vacuum man set his foot inside the main characters house, the mood of the main character got really weird.
He doesn’t like the man being at his house, it’s kind of his safehouse and other people breaching his safehouse is a very traumatic experience for this man, and I think it kind of confuses the main character, I’ll clarify later when im talking about the end of the story.
