Indledning
The text “cat in the rain” is a short story, written by Ernst Hemingway. The story is about two Americans couple, who are on holiday in Italy and staying at a hotel.
Most of the Italians come to see the war monument, the weather is rainy, and the wife sees a cat outside in the rain. She decides to go out and help the cat.

When she is speaking to the hotel keeper she also gets frustrated, because he gives her more attention than her husband does and she tried to feel have it felt being a little important.
The man doesn’t give her any attention, he is just sitting in the hotel room and wont to read his book, we see this in p. 2 l. 27.
The woman tried to talk to the husband but he doesn’t care. The main theme of the story is frustration and attention.
