Uddrag
Nick is a young boy, son of a doctor, maybe between 8-10 years old, since the danger in the text explains a lot of things, therefore it does not seem as if he has so much life experience yet.
For example, nick is a lot of questions "Do many men kill themselves, Daddy?” (p. 16 line 9), which indicates he doesn't know much yet.
Nick is a calm and confident boy, he's very considerate, "Oh, Daddy, can't you give here something to make here stop screaming?" (p. 14 lines 9-10), nick thinks a lot about others, whereas the father doesn't care that much.
