The stereotyped generation”. This essay is to discuss this term.
The millennials are found to be narcissistic, indolent, unfocused and chiefly entitled. Generation Y, the (anti-)social group of young people who were born approximately 1984 and after .
The millennials confound leadership, and they want to do things with purpose, and make an “impact”. The millennials are a “blessed” generation who grew up with everything they wanted instantly . But for some reason, they are still not quite happy.
This argumentative essay will elucidate the four characteristics of the millennials and which implications it has for the young people; parenting, technology, impatience and environment.
In the early 80s when the millennials were young, they were told that they, and only those, were something particularly exceptional. They were forced to believe, that they could have everything they want in this world instantly, and that they one day would make an extensive impact .
The phenomenon “helicopter parent” appears . The kids got into honors classes. Not because they deserved it, but because their parents complained or paid for it. The kids got A, because the teachers did not want to deal with the parents’ complaints.
So, these kids grew up in the belief that they could do and get anything instantly without effort. That is a problem. Because later, when the kids graduated school and entered the “real” world, they instantly found out, that they were not that special at all.
