I chose the topic for many reasons but mostly because I’ve seen a small group of Amish people when I was in New York with my family. It was so strange and I was wondering who they were.
Afterwards I got interested in the Amish people and I don’t understand why anybody would live a life, like they do.

Thee word Rumspringa means to run around and comes from the German word “herumspringen”
Rumspringa is the period between child and adult and it normally lasts 2 years. During Rumspringa, teens are allowed to ignore the Amish strictly lifestyle and experience the outside world as they want. They can listen to music, wear modern clothing and drink alcohol.
Amish teens can make a choice when Rumspringa ends. They can join the church for the rest of their life and live an Amish life or they can leave the Amish and live in the outside world.
Few Amish choose to leave the Amish and never return to their family. Most of them come back for fear of losing their family and friends. Other Amish return, because their parent will Shun them if they choose not to be and Amish. If you get shun then you can’t talk to anyone, not even your family.
