The overall theme of the text is culture. It’s about how these Third Culture Kids grow up in so many different cultures and what impact it has on them.
These Third Culture kids, also referred to as TCKs, gain many abilities from growing up in many different cultures, but they also lack some skills, that other kids have.

Being a Third Culture Kid has its advantages, but it certainly also has its disadvantages.
TCKs often have a hard time when they return to their ‘home’ or their passport country. They feel out of sync because they’ve missed so much while they’ve been gone.
They haven’t been exposed to the new trends, they haven’t seen the newest Netflix shows everyone’s talking about and so on. Therefore, they lack a vital social link.
