Hello my fellow students! I am happy to be invited to speak to you today. My name is James Smith, and I study business here at Boston University.
I’m glad I have gotten the chance to come here and talk about the retailing and racial inequality in the US.
Firstly, I will be accounting for and commenting on why and how US retailers address racial inequality. Then I will try to discuss the role of business in fighting inequality.

The racial inequality in the US has been a long-standing problem for many years and has been at the heart of the struggle for African Americans.
The death of George Floyd in May unleashed waves of demonstrations across a lot of cities in the US and sparked global outrage.
Walmart has allegedly kept black beauty products under key lock and key in some of their markets, where similar items for white customers were displayed openly.
This raised a lot of concerns from their customers, where and they ended up apologizing. On the other hand, another retailer called Sephora wer e one of the first retailers in the US to really take a real stand against discrimination and racial inequality.
Likewise, Kohl’s made a donation to the NAACP to help overcome racial inequality in the US.
