The British Empire has without a doubt made a huge impact in the world we live in. The Empire is largely known for the many colonies it created throughout the world, which was an endeavor they undertook for more than three centuries.
Through colonization, the Empire has brought lots of positive influence throughout its existence. But, with most good also comes bad, and that is no exception for the British Empire.
Even though the British seem harmless, there are countless issues with the Great Empire. The British lied about their dark history and they failed to acknowledge their failures.

There are many reasons to learn about history, as there are many lessons to be learned; those lessons being both good and bad.
It is very easy to look away from the darkest parts of history, especially when it’s regarding your country’s legacy.
As the British are very proud of their legacy, they do not want anything bad to change the outcome of their ‘good’ history. Ian Cobain, an author, and a reporter, states, “
… attempts to conceal and manipulate history in an attempt to sculpt an official narrative – speaks of a certain jitteriness on the part of the British state
as if it feared that interpretations of the past that were based upon its own records would find it difficult to celebrate the “greatness” of British history.”
1 Mr. Cobain makes a great point here. Building such a huge empire is not always a kind and honest business, and the British were afraid that their disagreeable doings around the world would be a show-stopper for their success.
The British have been sculpting their history by burning documents and changing stories so the outcome is in their favor.
