People compare themselves with others which, as mentioned above, is a natural thing. Instagram is a media platform, where many people follow people they like.
For example, you can be inspired by diets and exercises. I think that's a great thing to follow some people who find a great motive to being healthy and having that idealistic body perceived by the media.
Not only are motivational posts helpful but also their pictures and videos can help one out the door and into the gym, or help the individual to eat healthier.
Having said that, it's an illustration that unfortunately does not fit in all contexts. On Instagram, we follow people, and we get inspired and we become influenced by their pictures.
A picture shows a moment of a person's life. When you see a picture of a slender and well- groomed body, does it affect you in one way or another - maybe positive, maybe negative?
Imagine that we are influencing someone whose everyday life we may not know at all? It's a snapshot, as far from telling the truth - at least not all!
Several people compare themselves with other, such as in fitness competitions – and this is where we must say stop.
Why compare yourself with bodies that have ultra-tight perfectly made diet and who may train 1-2 times a day?
