Kayla: What exactly do you mean by that Lizzie?
Lizzie: Our government does not give everybody equal rights. Young people in disadvantaged areas, who are suffering cuts form their schools and youth services, feel like they have been abandoned by everybody.
Sharon: Can I add something to that?
Kayla: Yeah, but can you first tell us how the criminal lifestyle affects you.
Sharon: Thanks, and yeah sure. I had a brother who was a part of the criminal lifestyle, he was doing some doubtful things, but in the end, he still had an amazing heart.
He got pushed into the criminal lifestyle by everyone in his life but mainly because of our family’s money problems. He felt the pressure to provide for our family, and for him the only way to do that was by dealing drugs and so on.
But in the end the lifestyle caught up to him and he ended up bled out on the street. I’m sorry I get very emotional can I have a moment.
Kayla: Yes of course darling we will get back to you later. Now we have talked about how young people are pressured into the criminal life but are there other reasons for teens to become criminal. Let’s hear you Jaq.
Jaq: Of course, there is. People have their individual needs and goals, which can have a relation to the criminal lifestyle.
Being in the criminal environment is an easy way to make money. Therefore, it’s also glorified, especially by some rappers, the media and the movie industry.
