Test by Theodore Thomas is a short story written in 1962. The story starts in “in medias res” and is about a boy, who experiences a car accident with his mother under hypnosis.

He seemed a bit confused and emotionally affected, because of he did not say anything, before the two white-uniformed men told him that he failed the test and started to lift him out of the room.
His body language told us, he was touched, because he did not look up, when people spoke to him, and he just nodded in silence, when they asked him something.
