When Ryan was 15 years old, he had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get his life under control. He came from one of the country's roughest council estates to an expensive public school
and now the second chance series had allowed him to get himself together at school and become something.
But he didn't grab it and instead of getting something out of his unique opportunity, he was thrown out for drunken behavior.

Ryan was angry with the world and the fact that the school had given up on him didn't make it any better. He has felt indifferent, unwanted
and inept from the beginning of his life because his father left him and his mother. Before Ryan had the opportunity to attend boarding school
the headteacher sent complaints to his mother three times a week. He was described as a rude and unwieldy boy.
