Indledning
The English politic activist and writer George Monbiot has written an opinion article to the well-known English left-wing newspaper The Guardian. In his article, he describes the problematic effect economic growth has on our planet.

With people gaining higher pay checks comes higher level of environmental damage. All of this happens because of our tendencies to buy irrelevant things and afterwards throw them out, while they are often as good as new.

The article was published in 2017 a few days before the black Friday sales, which is known for people’s tendencies to go insane and fight over insane discounts on mostly electronics, toys and clothes.

Monbiot seems to have a big grudge against how income affects the global climate change. He makes it very clear that each person’s affect on the climate has mostly to with how big their income is.

Many people in western countries tend to think about how they are affecting the release of co2 into the atmosphere.

The reason behind this is that they have the income to buy bio-products and have time to spare to focus some of their time to try and decrease their release of co2.

But as Monbiot mentions in his article, is it the higher income households who damages the environment.

The reason behind this is that they do small things to make them feel like they are helping the environment, and afterwards goes on holiday to another country far away by plane.
