The nature versus nurture debate is one of the oldest philosophical debates in history. While certain physical traits can be credited to genetic inheritance
several studies strongly suggest that it is the environment in which a child grows up in, that is what greatly influences their development, upbringing, and accomplishments.

If we look at the social interactions and behaviourism of a person, most of it can be linked to a specific parenting-style or observation of certain experiences they have gone through.
One theory by Anthony Bandura demonstrates, that observation can play a critical a role in a child’s learning process.
There is a saying, children are like sponges, and they soak up the experiences they have each day.
Children imitate behaviours reflected in the people surrounding them. Bandura’s theory also conducted an experiment, in which a group of children were placed to observe an adult violently acting towards a doll.
Later, when the children were asked to play with the doll, they imitated the violent behaviour they were shown just before.
This theory can also be applied to real life, not only referring to violent behaviour but manners as well.
A child whose parents expose them to and reinforce proper manners at home, such as saying, “thank you” and “please” is also much more likely to continue with same manners throughout their life.
Others believe that it is something called neurotransmitters, that is what influence our behaviour. Neurotransmitters play a critical role within our neural communication and influence almost everything from our mood to how we learn.
However, this system is highly complex and can also be affected by diseases, drugs, and even other neural messengers in our brain.
