Indledning
The short story ”Slut Trouble” written by Beejay Silcox, in 2017, a thrilling and suspenseful story using backstory to underline the events that happen.
The two teenagers introduced, Laura and Megan, are influenced by the kidnapping of two young women around their age.
The first girl, Julie-Anne, was one of their friends, a girl they admired. Laura and Megan are the two main characters in the story.
We are also introduced to Laura ́s mother, who seems uptight as well as Megan ́s father, Mr. Henderson.
In the story Megan ́s mother is introduced, she left Megan when she was just a baby, and repays her abundance in “Lisa ́s Lousy Guilt Cash” (p. 2, lines 63-64).
The two missing, kidnapped girls, Julie-Anne and Kimberly Watson are also mentioned. The short story “Slut trouble”, touches upon some various topics; slut-shaming, violence against women, adolescent, and victim-blaming.
The story is described through a first-person narrator, with a narrow and limited point of view, which are Laura ́s thoughts and feelings.
The friendship between Megan and Lura is a bit twisted, and so is their way of talking to each other. The language between them is brutal and mixed with jealousy.
There is a shift between the shorts story’s language, some in narration, and other times written out as a dialogue.

We are not told the total environment of the story. We are given hints of where the story takes place such as, “There is ocean in the air now” (p.3, ll. 143), which may indicate that the story takes place in a town close to a beach perhaps.
The timespan of the story is also not revealed, but again reading the story small hints of whereas the events take place are revealed.
It all starts when the first girl, Julie-Anne, is kidnapped “The first girl is taken on the second weekend of the school holidays” (p.l.1), the story goes on and a new kidnapping takes place.
“The second girl is taken on the day that would have been my parents ́ seventeenth wedding anniversary” (p.3, ll.77), which suggests that the time between the two kidnappings and the story’s timespan is the short story’s timeline.
To conclude the analysis of the short story “Slut Trouble”, written by Beejay Silcox, I will include an analysis of the writing style from lines 142-147. It’s the final event in the story that is happening, our narrator, Laura, is lying in a tent on a mattress, after playing a game with Megan.
The game started as a fun role-playing game but turned out violent. The choice of words that are used to describe the event is quite descriptive of the environment they are lying in.
“Everything seems louder, the smell of chloroformed rag, the sheep-stink of the wool, the crushed leaves of the peppermint tree.” (p.4, ll.145-146).
The descriptive in the language is clear in this passage, we are introduced to the touch, smell and sound, which creates quite an intimate setting, but also a bit frightening environment.
Laura recounts that she would also like to be kidnapped, because it would mean that she would be a girl that someone, would be hurt by losing. Her adrenalin and her senses that come to life, hint to her sexual tensions awake, and that she gets to know herself better.
