Some things Blair mentions in the speech also indicates that he has the terrorist as a target group: “This is the battle that must be won, a battle not just about the terrorist methods but their views.”

Blair wants to indicate that he fights back and most importantly show the terrorist the UK is a strong nation that is no victim to terror.

One of Blair’s target groups is the members from the La-bour party he attempts to win them over to support his more drastic way of handling terror-ism.:

“Moderates are not moderate through weakness but through strength. Now is the time to show it in defence of our common values."

This is distinctly seen in the quote, where Blair talks to the Labour party and aim to convince them that this is the right way to handle terrorism.

In the speech, Blair uses all three types of appeal. The different kinds of appeal forms are used to his advantage so he can convey his message as well as possible.
