Indledning
Hey and welcome to my website! This site is all about the cool country of India and its relationship with England and Britain, whether it is sport or spices.

Here on the site I account for what imperialism is, since it is a really big part of Indian history and India just would not look the same without being ruled under the British empire.

I got a lot of interesting facts about India and its culture, primarily about things that have been influenced or just straight up been brought with the British like the sport of Cricket or how and when the Indian railway system was created.

I am also going deep in how imperialism was felt throughout the country. I also made a source analysis in history that I wanted to have on here to show my credibility, and alongside is an analysis of the short story

“The dutiful daughter” written by Saadat Hasan Manto and ties really well into the Indian culture and just how it was back then.

Uddrag
In this picture we see tons of Hindi refugees gathered at the port before departure so they could immigrate to their new designated home, Bombay.

The partition of India forced up to 14 million Muslims and Hindi to migrate to other parts of India, Since west- and east Pakistan would be a Muslim only country and India a Hindu only country.

The partition was not exactly a decision everyone was happy with, there were lovers that to separate and never see each other again, due to having different religions.

They were also a lot of death happening at one of the biggest migrations to date. Crossing an entire country at the size of India is no easy task, especially for the poor that could barely sustain themselves at their home, that now had to walk across the country.

If the people did not die of reasonings involving the trip, Muslims could still face the threat of heading into a Hindi, that would seek out Muslims to kill and or rape them.

On this picture you can see a sahib with Indian servants. English colonial officials received a high payment and could therefore afford a more luxurious lifestyle with a large number of native servants.

Since the British was in control of India, the higher forces of the country would have to be controlled by them too, and the British believing that they are superior

made sure to only their own well educated high classed people at the top, leading the native Indians to do all the dirty work while they would still have to pay taxes.

The upper class all being men, native to Britain, meant the rest of the Indian upper class would come to look similar to this even after the British had left India, hence why English is spoken a lot more by educated people than non-educated people13

This picture shows the infamous Mahatma Gandhi using a traditional spinning wheel to boycott the British.

During the struggle for Indian self-government, Ghandi recommended that you should go back to the use of the traditional spinning wheel as opposed to the British industrially manufactured textiles which had undermined the traditional Indian one.

Therefore, the spinning wheel became a symbol of the self-sufficiency strategy that was an important point in his political opposition to British colonial rule. symbol of the self-sufficiency strategy that was an important point in his political opposition to British colonial rule.14

Gandhi would end ending his resistance movement against the British, when some sporadic violence broke out, to the dismay of his followers. He would end up being arrested sometime in March 1922.15
