Indledning
Duluth Trading is an American company that sells workwear and related accessories. The company was originally founded in 1989 by Bob and Dave Fierek under another name, namely Portable Products, Inc. In the early years, Portable Products, Inc. mainly focused solely on construction workers and a particular product named “Bucket Boss”.

This product was an innovation for construction workers, which made it easy to carry tools. Today, “Bucket Boss” is sold through an individual company of the same name.

The company slowly expanded making more tool accessories and equipment in a catalog by the name of the company itself. In 1993, this catalog was renamed Duluth Trading Co., which is the current name of the company. Since then, the company’s ownership has changed several times. Fiskars bought the company in the mid-1990s, whereafter it was sold to Gempler’s and moved headquarters.

Here, the company managed to achieve a quite large amount of success with its “Longtail T-Shirts”. In 2003, Gempler’s was sold to Lab Safety Supply and Duluth Trading Company was kept by the owners.

Looking at their product assortment, it can be said that they offer various designs of the “Armachillo’s” as well as sizes, which would be expected of a clothing company. They also offer other boxer shorts with their “Armachillo’s” being the most expensive, which makes sense, as it is their “top-of-the-line” product with its special features.

Being able to keep their customers cool on the “Texas-hot” days, they can justify the higher price point and attract customers with the revolutionary technology.

Without having tried the product, the product description indicates that their boxers are generally more resistant to wear and tear. As well as the cooling technology, this is crucial for Duluth Trading Company as underwear and boxer shorts are often replaced due to cracks or holes.

If their products last for a long time, it could help them gain returning customers and thereby generate a somewhat stabile revenue, given that the “Armachillo’s” still have to be replaced every now and then. With that said, it would be expected for these particular boxers to last longer than usual, as they are also quite expensive.
