Appendix 1 shows the European central bank's monthly net-purchase of bonds and securities in the so-called PEPP programme (pandemic emergency purchase programme).

Net-purchase means that the numbers in the table show the change in the holdings of assets month by month.

In March 2020, the holdings were 15,444,000 million euro, while in April 2020, holdings increased by 103,363,000 million euro. This brought accumulated holdings to a level of 118.807.000 million euro in April 2020.

Calculate, show and account briefly for the development of net-purchases and accumulated holdings in the period.
