Automation is many things it is a form of technology. Automation is used to minimize the need for a human.

There are different kinds of automation, such as business process automation, IT automation, marketing automation, industrial automation, and home automation.

My first thoughts about automation were that these are just the factories where everything runs on an assembly line assembled by robots and machines, but automation is so much more.
