Indledning
In 2009 British reality show Boys and Girls Alone aired on Channel 4. The show exposed 20 boys and girls, living alone in gender-isolated houses, the reality of adulthood in their peak childhood:

They (miserably) cooked their own food, made own house-rules, and were tested on their ability to cooperate. The concept brought new focus on ethics-standards in media and whether this was children-exploitation or a genius social experiment.

This paper discusses different perspectives on the case and reflects on whether the show has pushed the moral values in the entertainment industry.

In Georgina Reid’s ‘I was right to put TJ on TV’, we meet Audrey, the mother to popular participant, TJ Scott. Mummy is hyped about Boys and Girls Alone!

She could not relate to the negativity around the show, and though an insignificant knife incident towards TJ caused an overreaction from the audience, she had no reason to concern.

The unusual family trip, consisting of Mum and Dad watching their child through a CCTV monitor, was loaded with positive experiences: Safe environment, 24/7 child chaperoning and personal growth - TJ chocked his mother with his ability to lead and intellect to discuss 9/11, thus Audrey is giving the stay a 10/10.
