We as humans will be responsible for our own death, we are killing the earth slowly. In Morris Lurie’s essay “The Larder”
we see a prime example of this happening. People are careless or maybe they simply just don’t know what they are doing.
The real-estate agent, has loose jowl, a huge face and shaggy eyebrows. The real-estate agent is careless, he does not really care if he ruining the life under the water.
He does not think twice when he takes a bunch of shell from the ocean, and destroying the life under the water. When he says ‘‘Bastards, aren’t they?’’, it shows his disrespectful approach to other creature.
He is mad, that he can not get the creatures out smoothly; it shows how selfish he, when does not care about the creatures and when emptying the “larder of the earth”.
