Getting homeless in The UK is very common. Even for teenagers is it very common unfortunately.
Not getting along with the family and moving out and suddenly you are living on the street. No money, no food and nowhere to go.
That is happening for Link in the novel Stone Cold by Robert Swindells. Swindells certainly gives us something to think about in his book.
Hundreds of the scruffy blighters lying around making the place look manky”. Here we can see how he refers to them and that it is not in a particularly nice way. Link is more of a soft guy. His self-esteem is bad, and he thinks of himself as invisible. “
You can call me Link. It’s not my name, but it’s what I say when somebody asks, which isn’t often. I’m invisible see?”. We can see that he doesn’t think highly of himself. Both characters are round.
They develop through the story. Link has gotten a friend and later falls in love and sees things much more positive.
