Opgave: The American Dream
Greetings fellow students.
My name is S K and I’ve been asked to make a speech to you all about the American Dream and I’m so excited.
I am going to tell you a little about why I am standing here in front of you today. Then I’m going to tell you about how someone is actually living their American Dream today, and then about the sad reality here in Baltimore.
Then I am going to tell you about how the American Dream has changed over the years, and of course, I’m not going to skip the conclusion in the end.
The American Dream is a various term because it’s so different from person to person. For an American, getting a good education can easily be their American Dream.
Maybe they are the first in their family to go to college or university, it may even be the dream for the parents. At least it was for me and my parents. I have dreamed of going to college and university since I was a little girl and here, I am today.
I am living my American Dream. 1 I am even attending the 10th best national university. -- cheers--. My parents never had a lot of money, so for me this is a dream come true. Me being here being able to give you all this speech, is only because I worked hard and never gave up.
For another person the American Dream could be owning a home and settling down. 2Actually according to a survey by Hearth Insights' 2017, when asked to select the three most important elements of the American Dream, respondents rated "owning a home I love" higher than any other option, including "starting a family" and "finding a fulfilling career."
But is the American Dream still alive for immigrants after the new American president, Donald Trump got elected? I don’t know.
According to Trump, the politicians have destroyed the American Dream because they have prioritized the interests of other countries over the interests of the American people.
