Dear fellow students at The Johns Hopkins University | Speech

My name is Gustav Parslov am I am here today to tell you about ‘The American Dream’ and how it has changed over time.

I am going to tell you a bit about how it all started and what it has brought to our proud country. Later I will talk to you about what have changed and what ‘The American Dream’ is today.

People are saying that because the American dream is a concept which raised many years ago, it is not a ‘thing’ anymore. However, an American immigrant entrepreneur named Joel Contartese can confirm, that “the American Dream is still alive and well”.

He came to America to better himself and his family’s financial condition. His view on the modern American Dream is that the concepts offers the opportunity to get success, for those who work for it.

Contartese explains how he throughout his struggles and success, learned a number of lessons about how the American Dream has changed over the years and what it means to live this ‘Dream’.

Some people will say that the American dream does not exist anymore, that they are not living the true American Dream and that it is not a possibility to live the ‘Dream’ anymore.

On the other hand, we have almost 80 percent of the people in the United States who would say that they are fully living the ‘Dream’ according to Hearth Insights' 2017 State of the American Dream report, which surveyed 2,000 people.
