Analysis of Obamas speech

Hearing your alarm in the morning is probably the worst sound for many young people. Knowing that you have a long day ahead of you, can be hard, and sometimes it can be difficult to find the motivation to stand up and get ready.

Everyone will meet bumps on the road, but that’s just a part of life. To achieve something good with your life will take courage, strength, and self-discipline.

But in the end, it will be worth it. It’s worth it because, you’re not just doing yourself a favor, you’re doing your country a favor.

But what is the meaning of “achieving something in life”? Achieving something good in life isn’t just about being the best in your class or being the best on your soccer- team.

It’s to take responsibility for yourself, it’s to work hard and have enough self-discipline to overcome the problems that might occur.

You would expect that your president would hold a speech filled with formal terms, but that is not the case in this speech. Obamas takes into account that he is speaking to high school, middle school, and kindergarten kids.

The speech is easy to understand and fits perfectly with the age of the audience. Obamas uses the pronouns you and yours, thereby it is direct language in the speech.

Obama uses all 3 appeal forms, which makes the speech reliable, rational, and sympathetic.

He uses ethos by mentioning J.K Rowling. J.K Rowling wrote Harry Potter which is a worldwide hit. But the famous Harry Potter book wasn’t a hit from the beginning. It got rejected 12 times before it was finally published.
