Good afternoon, it is my pleasure to welcome families, friends and of course my fellow classmates to this year’s High School graduation. We did it, finally. All those long nights studying for the History tests the next morning with Mr. Hudgens, finally paid off! It’s been a long journey with its ups and downs, but as all roads have, we have reached the end.
Today marks the day of the end of a chapter, but also the beginning of a new one. For many of us it is also a very emotional day, but it should be celebrated, and we should smile when reflecting back on all of our memories together as the class of 2019.
Throughout the next many years of your life, I want you to know that yes it can seem really dark and like there is no light at the end of the tunnel. But never, never stop working towards your goals.
As Abraham Lincoln once said; “If you want it badly enough. You can be anything you want to be, do anything you set out to accomplish if you hold to that desire with singleness of purpose”.
He meant that nothing is impossible with the right mindset, hard work and perseverance. I want us all to remember one thing in life: “If you want somethin’, go get it. Period.”
