Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen. It's a delight to be here with you today! My name is Emma, I’m 18 years old and I go to Townsend Harris High School in New York.
I am here today, to talk about the American dream and American values. In this speech, I will mention different versions of the American dream and talk about what it takes to achieve the American dream today.
What our survey found about the American dream, was that 85 percent indicated that “to have freedom of choice in how to live” was essential to achieving the American dream.
In addition, 83 percent indicated that “a good family life” was essential." Just like everyone else, the Americans love freedom and sees themselves as "the land of the free" as mentioned in their national anthem from 1814.
So for the majority of the American people, freedom and the right to choose your own life, is one of the most prominent things.
Both financial freedom and emotional freedom is a big part of the American dream. Over the years America has become much more tolerant when it comes to diversity.
Stuff like gay people getting married, being a different race than white or simply being plus size, is not something that has been approved of earlier.
